I suspect some of you will have noticed there was a massive earthquake in Japan the other day. Ever prepared, I was able to grab my digital camera in time to shoot some video of the action - check it out here (12MB).
My other news is I have started a new job at Picsel.
January 2007
Happy New Year everyone - apologies for the lack of seasons greetings this year. Had an exam the beginning of December (JLPT Level 2 - results February) which meant lots of last minute cramming and then had to go to Washington DC at short notice for a week on business, following which I took a few days break to visit the family in Boston, basically meaning December was a total washout in terms of Christmas cards and year end communications. By way of apology and as an antedote to the traditional Christmas News Letter I have prepared a photo slide show with the highlights of the year:

Its been a very long time since the last proper update - I've been working very hard (on other things). The big news is I'm now a TV star having appeared for all of half a second on a Terebi Tokyo program on the difficulties of understanding Japanese English. Here I am:

Was looking at alternative routes from London to Tokyo the other day. If you're not so fussy about journey time there are some bargains out there - here's one worth considering. London - Tokyo
